is born and raised in Miami, Florida.  She moved to Tallahassee in 1993 to attend Florida State University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology with a minor in Spanish and a Master of Science in Criminology. 

In 1999 she relocated to the Pinellas County area and attended Stetson University College of Law where she earned her Juris Doctorate.  She was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2003 and has practiced law locally since then. 

She served as an Assistant Public Defender for approximately six years in the 6th Judicial Circuit.  She also practiced law as a solo practitioner in the areas of criminal and family law for approximately ten years.  She joined Wood & Wood, P.A. in 2021.

Mrs. Miguel Devaux is born to Cuban parents who immigrated to the United States in the 1960’s.  She is fluent in Spanish.  She is married and has two sons.  She is the most recent addition to the Wood & Wood, P.A. team of attorneys.
